Dennis Buden has more than 25 years of high-quality strategic communications experience in a variety of media, corporate and agency environments. He has served clients and employers in fields ranging from the nonprofit sector to financial services to higher education and more.

He has successfully managed and promoted employer and client interests at the local, regional and national levels.
A Track Record of Success
As Principal of Dennis Buden Public Relations, LLC, since 1998, Dennis has helped meet communications challenges faced by companies and organizations including the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, Central Connecticut State University, Connecticut Association of Optometrists, State of Connecticut Children's Trust Fund, Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Connecticut Policy and Economic Council, Vinny T's of Boston, Avery Heights/Church Homes, Inc. and more. In recent years, DBPR has managed and executed a number of significant communications projects including a statewide public awareness campaign, award-winning community-based video production, media relations for an extended labor dispute, and introduction to the Connecticut market of a major restaurant chain.
Prior to starting his consulting practice, Dennis served in a senior capacity with Sullivan & LeShane, one of Connecticut's most respected public and government relations firms. During this time Dennis provided communications services for clients in industries including aerospace, architecture, manufacturing, insurance, financial services, government and nonprofit.
Dennis has earned a Connecticut IABC Bronze Quill Merit Award as Media Relations Manager and member of the Planning Committee for the Old State House 200th Anniversary. As a member of the Hartford Whalers Task Force, he played a key media relations role, working closely with the Governor’s office, Hartford Downtown Council and corporate leaders. Dennis also handled media relations for Connect ’96, the statewide initiative to link Connecticut’s schools to the Internet directed by 1st District Congressman John Larson.
For nearly seven years in the late ’80s and early ’90s, Dennis was heavily involved in the Connecticut debate over casino gaming as a Communications Consultant to the Connecticut Pari-Mutuel Association. During this time he simultaneously served as Director of Marketing & Public Relations for Plainfield Greyhound Park and as a Marketing and Advertising Consultant to Connecticut Off-Track Betting, managing combined advertising budgets approaching three quarters of a million dollars.
Following journalism school at the University of Bridgeport, Dennis was a news and sports reporter for the New Haven Register and Waterbury Republican. He moved into public relations in the early ’80s, serving as Assistant Director of Public Relations for the Hartford Whalers and later as Director of Information for the National Hockey League in New York City. Dennis played media relations roles at the NHL All-Star Games of 1985 and 1986, and as the North American liaison to international media on behalf of the Soviet National Team during Rendezvous ’87 in Quebec City.
Dennis is active throughout the Greater Hartford business community and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Hartford Guides.
